Our Theme: Kids Racing for Kids Who Can't
Who Was Mitch?
Mitch Chepokas was just nine years old--and very sick with cancer—when he gave his life savings to the other cancer kids in the hospital so that they might suffer less. It made Mitch feel so good that he made his dad pinky swear promise to keep helping cancer kids after he was gone. Today, the keepers of the Pinky Swear are the MiracleKids who race and fundraise for...
The Miracles of Mitch Foundation.
Mitch's All-Stars
Each MiracleKid races in honor of a specific Mitch’s All-Star (a Minnesota child who has been treated for cancer) whose name is marked on the racer's left leg during the triathlon. Your donations support the Miracles of Mitch Foundation to fund our grants program to support families of kids like DJ as they go through cancer treatment. What to Expect: We will have our two biggest Triathlons Yet in 2012. From 2004-2011, nearly 8500 kids ages 7-17 have finished our Chan and Mpls triathlons. The distances and course are kid-friendly and with huge crowds cheering for everyone, the MiracleKids is geared to be a fabulous experience for first-time racers or seasoned veterans. This is a fitness challenge that's more about testing your resolve, having fun, and helping others than it is about winning. Smiles abound as kids cross the finish line and earn a beautiful finisher's medal.
Our Mission: Produce the world's most fun triathlons for kids ages 7-17 to further inspire in them a life-long passion for being physically active and for charitable giving.
